General Guidelines
Please wear clothing that:
Allows full, easy access to the tattoo area
Keeps you comfortably covered during the appointment
Can accommodate a bandage afterward
Be aware that ink may transfer to clothing, especially near the tattoo site. Dark, loose-fitting clothing is recommended.
A private changing area is available in the bathroom
Area-Specific Recommendations
Mid / Lower Arms
T-shirt or tank top
Sleeves must roll comfortably several inches above the tattoo area
Upper Arms / Front Shoulders
Tank tops work best
Upper Chest
Low-cut tank top, button-down shirt, or bikini top
Larger placements may require shirt removal
Bras are not recommended, as they can distort placement
Pasties available upon request
Upper Back / Neck
Low-back or spaghetti strap top for upper back
Avoid racerback styles
Higher-backed tops may work for upper neck tattoos
Full Back
Hoodie or button-down shirt worn backwards to cover the front
If wearing a bra, choose one that unhooks in the back
Sternum / Underbreast
Front-opening shirt (button-down) + pasties recommended
Bras may work depending on placement, but can interfere
Pasties available upon request
Ribs
Loose shirt that can be easily taped up
Avoid bodysuits and dresses (limited access, unnecessary exposure)
Hips
Tie-side bikini bottoms or stretchy underwear that can be adjusted/taped
Bodysuits may work if they do not need to be overstretched
Avoid relying on tight garments to stretch beyond their natural fit
Thighs
Stretchy or rollable shorts preferred
Skirts are acceptable (longer styles provide better coverage)
Calves
Shorts, skirts, or loose pants that can roll up easily
Feet
Wear loose shoes or flip-flops
Foot tattoos are bandaged and may swell; tight shoes can be uncomfortable
Sanitation
If you are coming from a hike, workout, or similar activity, please shower and change beforehand. This helps maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
