What is the rate for pre-drawn work? All tattoos are done at my standard hourly rate of $250/hr. Many pre-drawns are in the single session, 1-3 hour range, but final size as well as design complexity will affect how long the tattoo takes over all. Please note that complex black fill takes much longer than linework only tattoos. If you are concerned about price or time, please inquire when putting in your submission requests for the design. I should be able to give you a pretty good estimate on time once the size and location are determined.
Are changes to pre-drawns accepted? Typically, no. I occasionally will accept alterations to a color scheme (for example, switching pink out for blue, etc), but those changes are made on a case by case basis. Otherwise, pre-drawns are available as-is. I do accept custom work, so if you would like something similar as a custom piece just let me know and I would be happy to draw something just for you.
Are pre-drawns suitable for cover ups? Typically, no. Changes cannot be made to pre-drawns, and unless you have a very tiny cover up and select a pre-drawn with a larger area of black, it is unlikely to work out. However, as stated above, I would be happy to create a design custom made to suit your specific cover up needs.
Are listed locations for pre-drawns set in stone? They are not - I am open to your ideas on where you’d like to put them, just keep in mind that wrapping around narrower parts of the body can significantly alter the look of a design, especially geo. For example, on too curved of a surface circles will look oval, etc.
Do you tattoo a pre-drawn design more than once? Typically pre-drawns are only tattooed once; I will make a note next to the design if this is not the case.. Occasionally I will make a few similar versions of one concept (different backgrounds, etc) which will each be tattooed once.
Who owns the pre-drawn design? Clients pay for the tattoo itself and the time spent tattooing; I retain the rights to all of my artwork, pre-drawn or otherwise. Pre-drawn work will never be tattooed again but depending on the design may be used otherwise in advertising, apparel, etc. If you would like to buy the rights to a pre-drawn design please inquire.
